Cricket! 10/29/2008

Our next game was on the 28 October 2008 Wednesday. Of course I batted 9th again, but this time I bowled 2nd. We won the toss this time and chose to field. The 1st bowler went and got 1 wicket already with 0 runs. A wicket maiden over they call it. And with 0 runs in one over, it’s called a maiden over. I then went in and got a cracking 4 runs off me. L Then I bowled the 4th over and got 1 wicket with 2 runs. That was it for me. Then I went to go and field. I caught one and stopped 2 fours. On the last over they scored 78-7. One of my friends did the last over for the 1st innings, called James Du Preeze (nicknamed Duppie). His 1st 3 balls were terrible! One went over the keepers head and two for four. He was angry, next ball. HOWZAT! LBW! A great ball! Next ball, in the air, is it going to be caught? “YOUR OUT!” said the umpire. He was on a hatrick ball! Next ball… “ON THE WICKET, MIDDLE STUMP, JAMES DU PREEZE HAS GOT HIS HATRICK!” says the other team.
We lifted him up and carried him to our bags. It was the best day of his life. If would have been for me two!

Hey, did I ever tell you that I play cricket? Well sit back, and enjoy the ride. Because, I’ll also going to be talking to you about my cricket career! Well, on the 21st October 2008 we played our first game, wait, did forget to tell you, I’m in the U/11D Team (4th Team) for my school Grey! Anyway, on Wednesday, we played our first game for the season. I wasn’t a batsman, I was a bowler. So I bated 9th and bowled 1st. We lost the toss and the other team chose to bowler. So I didn’t get to bat, because I was only 9th. Anyway, we went in and scored 116 all out. Then we went in to field and I started the 2nd innings. My first over wasn’t too bad, I got 1 run off me with no wickets. My next over was great! I got 2 wickets off 4 run. Most of us could only bowler 2 overs. So it was fare and then I went to field. I caught one and stopped one from getting a four. At the last over they were 89-6, and my couch let me finish them off! I then got 1 wicket for another 4 runs. And my total bowling status was 3 wickets for 9 runs.

Golf! 10/29/2008

Sometimes I play 9 holes by my self, just to practise, and then when I get a good shot somewhere, I improve on my golf. Anyway enough about that, on the 29 October 2008 Wednesday, I had my best 9 hole round of my life. All of my tee shots were perfect, I shortened my back swing, and I swung my wrists. And this time, I scored, 39! Now that was the best 9 holes of my life...

Golf! 10/28/2008

Wahoo, my first handicap! I have been waiting for this day my whole life... Guys, I love golf, so why can’t I? Anyway, my handicap is now officially 28.

First day playing with my handicap:
I am so ANGRY with my self, I thought I would have played great with my handicap, but I was wrong. Well, it turned out to be a disaster, my worst golf day of my life...

First 9 holes:
I came in for the first 9 holes, I didn't know what happened, and I scored 60. When we went to the halfway house to grab a snack, my dad just told me, "shorten your back swing, and swing you wrists!"…

Next 9 holes:
Then I listened to my dad and agreed. My first tee shot was amazing, I couldn’t believe it, and neither could my dad. I was so happy! So, I carried on for another 9 holes and made about 7 new records for me. And guess what I scored then? I scored 44! My best 9 holes score in my life time! Then my dad told me, when you start off doing badly, it doesn’t mean that you must think its over, we'll I did, and I was STUPID...
